Orange Bowl Football Showcase: Lives changed in eighth annual event

MIAMI GARDENS – For approximately 500 high school football student-athletes throughout the state of Florida, their potential futures were pointed into a positive direction.

Sponsored primarily by Baptist Health, the Orange Bowl hosted its eighth annual football showcase to provide potential college scholarship opportunities for scores of high school seniors – and now also underclassmen. The event, which featured a slew of drills, was assembled for position groups: kickers/punters/long snappers, linemen, and skill position players.

The most exciting part of the Saturday (Feb. 24) Showcase was arguably the 1-on-1’s with the skill position players. We will show you a few clips from there.

In all, a total of 31 Palm Beach County high school student-athletes and eight more from the Treasure Coast were among those who at least registered for the annual showcase.

We will share with you some snapshot moments and interviews that took place at St. Thomas University’s Bobcat Stadium in Miami.

Stay tuned for that.
