LAKE WORTH – Patience is a virtue.
This trait defines Andrew ‘Rico’ Joseph so well in more ways than one. After several years of learning the ropes in the game of flag football, the Muckstepper would be selected by the Park Vista administration to lead their vaunted flag football program for 2024 and beyond.

In short, the patience is paying off in more ways than one.
As a state champion in high school football – Joseph helped lead Glades Day to the Class 1A state title in 2006 – the first-year Lady Cobras head coach knows what it takes to consistently win games.
After five games played, he has his female stars on the upswing with a 5-0 record, with the most recent win coming at home over Oxbridge Academy last night (March 4) by a score of 39-6.
Joseph spoke on Park Vista’s fast start to its regular season.
“For Year 1, it’s been amazing,” Joseph said. “These young ladies are model citizens of what we want out of our program. They’ve bought into me and our other coaches. It’s been a blessing to have them enjoy coming to play and want to play for us and their teammates. It’s nothing like it.”
Joseph, who is also a referee for multiple sports and served as Park Vista’s girls basketball head coach this past winter season, said this is his eighth year coaching flag football overall.
“I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to have my own program,” said Joseph, who is a Louisiana-Lafayette college graduate. “The opportunity presented itself and I’ve been able to get it here. It’s been nothing but love and it’s been great ever since I got here.”
Joseph faced off against his fellow Glades Day cohort from years past, lifelong friend, and Oxbridge Academy flag football head coach Remington Young last night. He spoke on Young and the Glades Day connection they both share with each other.
“It’s a big program over there,” Joseph said. “It’s been around for years. Legendary. We were just blessed enough to be a part of it. I’m always blessed to have a state championship out there. He went through the same stuff doing the same things. But it was one of them things that it was meant for me to be there. I ended up going there in my 11th grade year and I enjoyed it. I got a lot out of it.”
