Locked in: LB Zion Booth focuses on getting Pahokee back in top form

PAHOKEE – Zion Booth summed up his junior season at Pahokee as simply as possible.

“I like that we grew together,” the 6-foot, 195-pound linebacker said. “Coming into it, we were young. People didn’t see us as competition. The team talked about the media too much, letting it get to them. The only thing I wanted different for them was to not look to the media.”

In 11 games, the Pahokee Blue Devils 2025 standout posted the following statistics:

•58 total tackles (38 solo, 20 assists)

•5 tackles for loss

•1 sack for 5 yards

•3 quarterback hurries

•1 interception

•3 pass breakups

•5 fumble recoveries

•1 blocked PAT on special teams

•2 total touchdowns

Booth’s best individual game was in Week 4 at home against Palm Beach Central – a 33-30 overtime loss. He registered 10 tackles and a quarterback hurry in that one.

Fellow teammate and ‘25 classmate Rashon Brown commented on Booth’s approach to the game and more.

“Zion is a dog on the field. He’s a ball hawk,” Brown said. “Zion off the field is chill. He doesn’t bother anybody. He’s to himself.”

At this time, Booth has two offers from Western Kentucky and UNC Pembroke. He has also garnered interest from the likes of Purdue, Wake Forest, FAU, FIU, Old Dominion and Western Michigan.

Booth on the Western Kentucky offer:

“Happy to have my first offer be from them,” Booth said. “Coach [Da’Von Brown] [Western Kentucky defensive backs coach/Belle Glade native] came to one of our practices during the season. He shows love.”

Booth is now getting himself focused in preparation for his senior season with the Blue Devils.

“I want to be the No. 1 linebacker in the county and our division,” Booth said. “I want to stay focused and be consistent. I just wanna play ball.”
