Amazing start: Andrew Joseph leads Park Vista flag football to 6-0 record

ROYAL PALM BEACH – The 2024 flag football season is three weeks old, with Park Vista emerging as one of Palm Beach County’s best teams.

With a 6-0 record to date, Lady Cobras first-year head coach Andrew ‘Rico’ Joseph has guided his team to an awesome start in more ways than one.

The Park Vista Lady Cobras (6-0) are all smiles after a road win last night over Royal Palm Beach.

Here are Park Vista’s six victories below:

•Tuesday, Feb. 20: Defeated Cardinal Newman, 38-0

•Friday, Feb. 23: Defeated Morningside Academy, 47-0

•Tuesday, Feb. 27: Defeated Lake Worth, 38-0

•Saturday, March 2: Defeated Seminole Ridge, 20-7

•Monday, March 4: Defeated Oxbridge Academy, 39-6

•Thursday, March 7: Defeated Royal Palm Beach, 24-0

The most recent win for Park Vista proved to be a homecoming of sorts for Joseph, who faced off against his old head coach in Hal Camp.

Joseph was on Royal Palm Beach’s flag football coaching staff for several years and proved himself to be a valuable assistant by learning the ropes and more.

Joseph’s patience down through the years would pave the way for him to earn his first head coaching job at Park Vista.

Hear what Camp and Royal Palm Beach assistant athletic director Deonte Savage had to say about Joseph right below.

The Royal Palm Beach duo were not the only ones to speak glowingly of Joseph. Eric Patterson, the Wildcats/Lady Wildcats athletic director, chimed in as well.

“He’s probably one of the well-prepared coaches we have around here,” said Patterson, who was Joseph’s high school football head coach way back when he was a freshman and sophomore at Royal Palm Beach (2003-2004). “I expect him to do very good there.”

Two of Joseph’s senior standouts couldn’t agree more. Hear what Lady Cobras ‘24 stars Hannah Dolphus and Saniya Frazier had to say about Joseph.

This amazing start will continue with two games tomorrow (March 9) – both of which are on the road against Lakewood Ranch (5-1; 1:45 p.m.) and Pembroke Pines Charter (4-1; 4:15 p.m.).

Park Vista, which hopes to end this weekend with a record of 8-0, will have three games next week against Lincoln Park Academy (5-1; Tuesday, March 12 at 4:30 p.m.), Fort Pierce Central (7-0; Tuesday, March 12 at 6 p.m.), and Dwyer (2-6; Thursday, March 14 at 7:15 p.m.).

The Lady Cobras will end their regular season with four road games against:

•Boca Raton – Wednesday, March 27 at 7:15 p.m.

•John I. Leonard – Thursday, March 28 at 7:15 p.m.

•Santaluces – Wednesday, April 3 at 7:15 p.m.

•Suncoast – Thursday, April 4 at 7:15

Can we see a 15-0 final regular season record for Joseph and the Lady Cobras?

We will find out starting tomorrow.
