PAHOKEE – The Pahokee Blue Devils have at least several talented underclassmen on their roster.
One of them is Samuel Arnold, a running back from the Class of 2026.

As a sophomore, the 5-foot-9, 175-pound rising star posted the following statistics in 11 games played:
•26 carries
•150 rushing yards
•2 touchdowns
•5.8 yards per carry
•1 return for 17 yards on special teams
Arnold’s best individual game was in Week 2 against Inlet Grove – a 29-6 road win.
•4 carries
•27 yards
•6.8 yards per carry
“I’d say I could’ve done better,” Arnold said. “There were a couple of plays where I could’ve kept my balance and got to the end zone. The win was expected. Defense was locked in, offense started slow, but we got it rolling.”
Arnold reflected on this past season with the Blue Devils.
“My sophomore season went pretty smooth,” Arnold said. “It was a learning experience in preparation for this upcoming season. I realized there’s a lot to correct and I’m ready to improve and turn heads.”
Arnold credited Pahokee head coach Matthew Sparrowhawk and former Pahokee offensive coordinator/now-Glades Central Raiders head coach Omar Haugabook for his development.
“Both are great coaches and leaders,” Arnold said. “To play, you have to work and that comes with competing. If it wasn’t 100 percent, we keep repeating the cycle until it’s right. Nothing comes easy being underneath them.”
For this offseason, Arnold has been working on a plan to improve his craft.
“During sixth period I lift,” Arnold said. “Sometimes I hit the field before track practice. After track practice, I head to 7v7 practice. On the weekend, I hit the field.”
Arnold shared his aspirations for his upcoming junior season with the Blue Devils.
“My goals for this upcoming season are to get at least 2-3 offers and rush for at least 1,000 yards,” Arnold said. “My team goals are to beat Hawthorne in the playoffs and eventually ring chase.”
We will watch Arnold’s progress closely this year and beyond.
