In all, the 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete proved himself to be a valuable leader with his overall athleticism, his ability to guide others on and off the field, and more. He led Okeechobee to a 6-4 record in 2023, which turned out to be the program’s best season since 2008 (8-3 final record with playoff berth).

Fellow classmate and team captain Carriss Johns (‘24 ATH) weighed in on Bryant’s overall impact on the Okeechobee program.

“Ni’marion is one of the best athletes that I have seen in a while come from here,” Johns said. “Whether it’s from the classroom or to the football field, he will always give it his best.”

Bryant’s senior season was a testament of that and more. His statistics were as follows:

PASSING

•43-of-87, 530 yards, 3 touchdowns, 7 interceptions

RUSHING

•108 carries

•750 yards

•14 touchdowns

RECEIVING

•3 receptions

•122 yards

•2 touchdowns

TOTAL YARDS: 1,402 in nine games played

Bryant’s best game was in Week 2 against St. Edward’s (Vero Beach) – a 44-0 win for Okeechobee. In that one, he had nine carries for 196 yards and five touchdowns.

Bryant recapped his senior season with the Brahmans.

“My senior season at Okeechobee went better than the last two, but it could’ve been better if we took every practice seriously,” Bryant said. “The thing that I loved about it was playing side by side with my teammates and us knowing exactly what to do. We knew we had to handle business when we hit the field and play as a team. What could’ve gone differently is minimizing my mistakes and making better decisions some of the time.”

Bryant was selected to play in the Treasure Coast vs. Palm Beach County All-Star Game this past January. He played in two offensive drives, but it was enough for him to earn Offensive MVP honors in his final high school football game.

“I can say that the game was a good one,” Bryant said. “The other team had great athletes, just as well as our team. It was an evenly matched game and the best team that day won (Palm Beach over Treasure Coast in a 17-13 comeback win). It was good winning Offensively MVP, but it would’ve been better if we won.”

Moving on to the next one, Bryant is set to take his talents to the next level at Palm Beach Elite Academy. He made his decision to go with the Canes sometime in February.

“I can tell you that the coaches will tell you how it is and not beat around the bush about anything,” Bryant said. “And talking to my teammates and getting to know them in a short time, I can say that everyone is a team player and no one think that they are better than the other. And the coaches always check in.”

Bryant reflected on his school football career with the Okeechobee Brahmans.

“Well we had a good team all those years and we had great athletes across the board,” Bryant said. “But I would have to say the best year of high school was my senior year because coming off two losing seasons and going into senior year, I was going in with the mindset that we needed to change the culture. And actually doing that was the good part.”
