The Seminole Ridge ‘25 athlete has proven himself to be a reliable leader in more ways than one. Even though his team did not qualify for the Class 3M playoffs this past season, Reid was successful in leading the Hawks to a 7-3 final record.

In eight games played, the 6-foot, 190-pound team captain posted the following statistics:

AT QUARTERBACK

•54-of-86 passing

•693 yards

•7 touchdown passes

•3 interceptions

•1 rushing touchdown

Reid’s best individual game was in Week 9’s 34-12 win over Park. He posted the following marks:

•13-for-17 passing

•147 yards

•1 touchdown

•0 interceptions

•1 rushing touchdown

Reid recapped his junior season with Seminole Ridge.

“Junior season was my favorite season by far; so many fun moments and memories from that season,” Reid said. “The chemistry of our team was very high, and that brought us all together to work towards our goal of being a successful team. Being a captain and the starting quarterback gave me a sense of pride and made me feel that I gotta set an example and be a leader for my teammates. We put our heads down and worked to be better every week. What could have gone differently is the fact we didn’t take it serious enough. To truly accomplish our goal of winning our district and making playoffs we could have been more disciplined, get stronger, smarter and better each day by being more consistent.”

For the offseason, Reid has been spending time with his team in gaining a better connection with one another in more ways than one.

“Well I’m switching my position this year and focusing more on being an athlete,” said Reid, who does not have any college offers or interest at this time.

“I’m going to the FCA 7-on-7’s and playing both sides of the ball, and I’ve been lifting weights to get stronger,” Reid continued. “I’m studying the game, perfecting my blocking knowledge and technique, and getting more comfortable with the plays. Me and my team will be going to more camps in the summer.”

Reid credits Seminole Ridge head coach Chad Chieffalo for his development as a team leader and more.

“Coach Chieffalo has been helping us get stronger in the weight room, faster by having us do running drills to work on form, getting out of a stance, and working on a burst,” Reid said. “He has been stressing that we are doing something productive to get better for this season like the weightlifting team or the track team.”

As we are seeing now, solid relationships are paramount for Reid. One thing the Seminole Ridge junior leader has done an exemplary job at is understanding and respecting with the Muck players have had to offer.

Reid’s current and former Seminole Ridge teammates from Belle Glade consist of:

•Ikong Blake (2026 WR/DB; Seminole Ridge)

•Markiis Griiffths (2026 RB/LB; Somerset Academy Canyons)

•Markwan Griiffths (2025 WR/DB; Somerset Academy Canyons)

•Michael Liriano (2025 ATH; Glades Central)

•Gregory King (2025 ATH; Glades Central)

Reid spoke on this key dymanic in detail.

“Building trust and a relationship with these guys was easy,” Reid said. “We all shared the common goal of wanting to be the best we can possibly be and keep working hard every day. Most of these guys playing receiver made it necessary that we had a relationship. Gotta know my receivers. All of these guys made me look good on the field and saved me sometimes.”

Reid did not stop there.

“These guys all have a great work ethic, pushing me and others to work and get better,” Reid said. “Markwan and Markiis are nonstop with getting work in whenever they possibly can to get better. Greg has fought through some adversity to keep playing football, which shows how far he will go in the sport. Ikong is working by always getting stronger and faster. And Michael is the same by working constantly.”

Liriano spoke on Reid’s relentless pursuit of continuous improvement.

“Dylan is a sleeper,” Liriano said. “He’s the quiet one out of the bunch, but you’ll understand his impact once you play with him. He’s a unique athlete that’s capable of playing both sides and a stellar quarterback being a dual-threat, especially when he was with Robbie [Venero; 2024 RB] in the backfield. Him as a person was great, as he was funny and chill to be around. Coaches would want to invest some time into Dylan this offseason.”

Reid revealed his aspirations for how he would like his upcoming senior season to be with Seminole Ridge.

“For individual goals, I wanna be the best player I can possibly be for my team and myself,” Reid said. “I’m gonna give it my all the whole year, and I wanna work towards getting my first offer. As for team goals, winning our district is our goal because that allows us to go to the playoffs.”

We will watch Reid’s progress both on and off the field from now until the day he signs his letter of intent with a college football program.
