Transfer move: OL Mickinley Holman goes from Pahokee to Cardinal Newman

WEST PALM BEACH – Our highly touted lineman from the Muck has decided to make a move today (April 9).

Earlier this afternoon, McKinley Holman (6-foot-1, 290 pounds) announced on his social media pages that he will be transferring from Pahokee to Cardinal Newman for his upcoming senior season.

In all honesty, it came down to one thing for the reason why Holman made this decision.

“No negativity here,” Holman said. “Pahokee is a great program, don’t get me wrong. I just felt that Newman was the best move for me. I’m reunited with my old teammate Jyron [Hughley]. For a while now, we’ve been talking about teaming up again. Me and Jyron’s bond is tight since little league, all the way till I transferred to Pahokee.”

Holman and Hughley played youth league football together for the Muck City Browns (now-Muck City Gators) and then played together at Glades Day. Holman and Hughley were Glades Day teammates for the 2021 season.

After Holman played his freshman season at Glades Day, he transferred to Pahokee for his sophomore and junior seasons (2022-2023).

This past season, Holman recorded 21 pancakes on the offensive line in five games played. His best individual game was in Week 5 against Palm Beach Gardens (34-18 win), when he recorded six pancakes on the offensive line.

At this time, Holman has one offer from Rhode Island. He has also garnered interest from the likes of Pitt, FIU, and USF.

Stay tuned for further updates on Holman’s on-field and off-field progress at Cardinal Newman from now until the day he signs his letter of intent with a college in 2025.
