The Port St. Lucie resident and Pahokee native spoke on his roots with conviction. This is how he has been rooted, grounded, and developed as both a football player on the field and person off it.

“I was born on the Muck and moved to Port SaintLucie when I was in the second grade,” Harris said. “Although I wasn’t raised in the Muck, my roots run deep in the Muck. I’ve had several family members to play college football: Vincent Smith (Michigan) and Anthony Shepherd, who won three state championships while playing quarterback at Pahokee High School. Sports is major in my family. My oldest brother Knijeah Harris is currently a sophomore at the University of Florida. Being from the Muck has set a major foundation for my life.”

With that said, Harris has transferred this offseason from Inlet Grove (Riviera Beach) to Treasure Coast for his upcoming senior season. He shared the reason why this decision was made.

“I just wanted to be closer to home and to have a chance to compete on a team that’s playing competitive teams,” the 6-foot-1, 270-pound offensive lineman said.

Harris spoke on how well he has been getting acclimated to the winning culture that exists with the Treasure Coast Titans, led by head coach Irvin Jones.

“It was very easy to get settled into their team,” Harris said. “They are very hard working and disciplined.”

Treasure Coast (9-3 final record in 2023) finished last season as the Treasure Coast’s No. 1-ranked team and was the only Treasure Coast-area that reached the FHSAA regional final round of the postseason.

Harris will be a great addition to Treasure Coast’s vaunted offensive line, as evidenced by his Hudl film and final statistics from this past season as a junior.

In eight games for Inlet Grove, the offensive lineman recorded the following:

•20 pancakes

•No sacks allowed

•Best game: Week 6 at Calvary Christian Academy (53-13 road loss) – 4 pancakes

Hudl film for ‘25 OL Zyon Harris

Harris reflected on his time at Inlet Grove, which lasted for three seasons (2021 as a freshman; 2022 as a sophomore; 2023 as a junior).

“I learned a lot at Inlet Grove,” Harris said. “I was able to become a leader and help others around me develop. I loved that I was able to perfect my craft and play with and against like-minded people. I think that everything has happened on the football field as it should.”

At this time, Harris has no offers from any colleges. But he plans to make the most of what the Treasure Coast program and experience will have to offer him over the next several months ahead.

“I’m excited about the upcoming season,” Harris said. “This year I will be playing with and against a lot of my teammates from youth football.”
