Speak it into existence: Big things coming for RB Anthony Camara

PORT ST. LUCIE – Do not try to limit or stop Anthony Camara.

You have been warned.

Also: Do not tell the Tradition Prep ‘25 running back that he is anything but Division 1 (FBS/FCS) material.

He does not want to hear any of it.

For the foreseeable future, one of the Treasure Coast’s best running backs in the Class of 2025 will be doing everything he can to earn at least one college scholarship offer on the Division 1 level – no less.

The 5-foot-10, 190-pound runner has garnered interest from the likes of Miami, Arkansas, FAU, and UAB.

Camara has at least gotten to this point due to his overall production on the field, particularly from his junior year with the Pirates.

In eight games this past season, Camara posted the following statistics:

•63 carries

•7.7 yards per carry

•612 all-purpose yards

•13 touchdowns

Camara’s best individual game was for Week 4 against St. Edward’s in a 29-12 win. Here are his statistics from that one:

•153 all-purpose yards

•3 touchdowns

“I thought it was a great way to come back after the loss to St. Edwards the season before,” Camara said. “I came out ready to go and let God do His work. Being able to score three times, break the school record for touchdowns in a season, and have over 150 all-purpose yards that night showed that my offseason training paid off.”

Camara reflected on his junior season with Tradition Prep.

“I loved that I was able to show the city and crowd full of people that I wasn’t just a regular player,” Camara said. “What I could have done better is just little things like missing a hole that could’ve gotten me more yardage on runs.”

Watch Camara’s film below to see his overall production for yourself.

We were able to get Treasure Coast ‘25 offensive lineman and Pahokee native Zyon Harris to evaluate Camara’s film. After watching the footage extensive, here is what Harris had to say about Camara’s junior season and future potential on the field.

“He looks good,” Harris said of Camara. “He runs pretty hard. He could get a little faster. I think he could put a little weight on this offseason, around 205 maybe. If he puts on some weight, he could do some damage this year.”

Camara has been working on his speed in this offseason. His 40-yard dash time has improved from 4.65 to 4.57.

“I think this is gonna help a lot,” Camara said. “It shows a lot of improvement.”

Here are all the ways that Camara has been aiming to get better at his craft through the offseason period:

•Lifting

•First step explosion drills

•Footwork

•Route running drills

•7-on-7 with the Tradition Prep team

As for Camara’s senior season aspirations, he made sure to list them as well. Take a look right below.

Camara’s individual goals for the fall:

•Having a 1,000 all purpose yard season

•Maintaining a 3.0 or higher GPA to stay on the field

•Being the best student-athlete possible both on and off the field.

Camara’s team goals for the fall:

•Bringing back a state ring (Sunshine State Athletic Conference Atlantic Division) after falling short last season

•Creating a stronger bond with the team

•Build more relationships with incoming teammates and coaching staff

Ultimately, Camara wants to leave his mark on the Tradition Prep program, the Port St. Lucie community, and the Treasure Coast region for years to come.

“I wanna be able to come back to the city and give back to the community,” Camara said. “While giving back to the community, I wanna be able to tell all the young kids, “If you have a dream, work for it. Losing friends is part of the process. People doubted me my whole life. Keep your head down, keep your grades up, and be the best you on and off the field.””

We are excited to see what is in store for Camara this year and beyond. We expect great things for the Tradition Prep standout in more ways than one.
