BEST INDIVIDUAL GAME: Week 4 at Wellington in 16-15 road loss

•2-point conversion catch that gave Royal Palm Beach up 15-13 over Wellington with about 4 minutes left in the game

Lewis spoke on what transpired for him in the Royal Palm Beach-Wellington game.

“I had some impactful catches to move us down field when we were in a hurry-up offense,” Lewis said. “On my catch for the 2-point conversion, I executed this by knowing my team needed me to make those plays in the moment and I wanted to do what I had to do to help the team.”

Lewis recapped his junior season at Royal Palm Beach.

“It was the start of our rebuilding season here at Royal Palm,” Lewis said. “We had a very young team, so there’s a lot to improve on especially with mindsets. But I loved how close we were as a team and how we would compete at practice every day and move forward every day. I think this was a big season for me to really get my name out there and showcase what I could do.”

Royal Palm Beach recruiting coordinator Dee Rolle Jr. commented on the Belle Glade native’s junior season.

“Cam is a smart kid,” Rolle Jr. said of Lewis, who is related to NFL Hall of Fame candidate and Muck legend Fred Taylor. “He has the ability to find open holes in a defense. He is a very positive young man. He is a leader on and off the field. He likes to lead by example and he keeps a smile on his face at all times. We are looking for at minimum 650 yards this year from him.”

Royal Palm Beach running backs coach Brandon Huggins chimed in as well.

“He’s a great kid with a very positive attitude,”Huggins said. “He didn’t have a lot of targets or catches last season. But he didn’t complain once. He’s a hard working talent who wants to perfect his craft. He has great hands and he’s a nice route runner.”

We will all see what’s in store this upcoming season for Lewis, who currently has a 3.3 GPA.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Lewis Journey.
