Royal introduction: OL/DL Derrick Patterson

ROYAL PALM BEACH – The Royal Palm Beach Wildcats will be a team to watch in the years to come.

One of the reasons why is because of its youth.

Meet Derrick “Pablo” Patterson, a 5-foot-8, 251-pound offensive guard and defensive tackle who started in the trenches for all 10 games this past season.

A great way to meet a player is by watching one’s film. Go ahead and take a full look at Pablo’s play for yourself.

Royal Palm Beach ‘25 athlete Cameron Lewis provided his take on the Belle Glade native.

“Pablo is one of the best freshmen I’ve ever seen,” Lewis said of Patterson, who moved from Belle Glade to Royal Palm Beach during his middle school years. “His work ethic is crazy. He doesn’t talk or complain. He just works. He’s always watching film and trying to become more intelligent regarding the game. He’s just a great kid.”

Royal Palm Beach recruiting coordinator Dee Rolle Jr. echoed Lewis’s sentiments on the ‘27 offensive/defensive lineman.

“He was the best lineman on the team,” Rolle Jr. said. “He sports a 3.5 GPA. He is humble, coachable, and strong. He is on the track team. He participates in discus, shot put, and javelin. We are expecting greater things from him in his sophomore season.”

We will all see what’s in store this upcoming fall season for Patterson.

Stay tuned for further updates on the Pablo Journey.
