JUPITER – Jordan Johnson had perhaps the most important catch of this past weekend at the Jupiter Spring Jamboree.

Down 13-8 to state powerhouse Palmetto (Miami) with less than 45 seconds left in the final May 18 morning game, the ‘26 wide receiver got himself wide open in the end zone for a 9-yard touchdown catch from ‘25 quarterback and Belle Glade native Garrett Rimes. It gave Seminole Ridge a 14-13 lead with 24.4 seconds left and the win at the final buzzer.
Johnson spoke on his breakout moment.
“I seen the d-end (defensive end) was blitzing,” the 5-foot-10, 180-pound receiver said. “So I knew there would be no one on me except for the safety. So when I ran my out route, I seen Garrett rolling out and he gave a little head nod to the left. And that’s when I knew to break off my guy to get the easy touchdown.”

Rimes on the touchdown pass to Johnson:
“We just drew it up, just like our coach did,” Rimes said. “Right to Jordan. Ran simple. Played to get open.”
Johnson is expecting to use this key moment as a springboard for greater success in the future.
But for now, we will reflect on Johnson’s past achievements.
In 10 games last season as a sophomore, the Seminole Ridge rising star posted the following statistics:
RUSHING
•12 carries for 110 yards
RECEIVING
•9 catches for 64 yards
SPECIAL TEAMS
•1 blocked punt
TOTAL YARDS: 174
BEST SHOWING: Week 4 at Palm Beach Lakes in 34-0 win with 3 carries for 52 yards; season-best 33-yard run
Johnson spoke on his performance against Palm Beach Lakes.
“Last year I was the go-to guy for screens and the jet sweep, so I had plenty of experience on how to run this particular play,” Johnson said. “Every time my coach calls it, I get positive yards. So they trust me to go out there and make a play for the team, and that’s exactly what I did.”
Johnson reflected on his sophomore season at Seminole Ridge.
“i loved the fact that I worked my way up on the depth chart and started all 10 games as a sophomore,” Johnson said. “I did it by gaining my coaches and teammates trust, which then is going to allow me to show off my craft and what I’ve been working on for my upcoming junior year.”
This offseason and spring football circuit has been a growth experience for Johnson. In addition to being at slot receiver, he sometimes plays at the linebacker position.
“The coaches loved what they seen out of me this spring practice at linebacker in place for Ty Jackson,” Johnson said. “When he gets healthy, it will be us two.”
Johnson on the offseason workouts and camps:
“I’ve done everything possible on my end by training with multiple coaches and skilled players, on top of attending many camps,” Johnson said. “This has gotten the attention of colleges including STU (St. Thomas), Warner, Webber, and more. They have reached out to me to show interest.”
Johnson opened up about his aspirations and expectations for the upcoming fall season at Seminole Ridge.
“I have already set my goals in stone for this season,” Johnson said. “I’m looking for 800 receiving yards and 70 tackles. And for the team, it’s always 1-0 every week.”
