Spring football: Specially Fit Academy outlasts Moore Haven

MOORE HAVEN – The Specially Fit Academy Rams lived up to their name last night (May 22) against the Moore Haven Terriers in spring football action.

Held at Moore Haven High School in Glades County, the Dover-based school scored on each of its first half possessions and allowed zero first downs to get a 27-0 lead by halftime.

This game was agreed upon by both teams to operate on a running clock from start to finish – an unusual but beneficial move for both programs in more ways than one.

In what turned out to be a 41-6 win for Specially Fit Academy, the second-year program has a star quarterback in Jaydis Wiley (Class of 2026), who accounted for four touchdown passes in his team’s road outing.

At least one of Wiley’s four touchdown passes went to wide receiver Delvonte Inmon (Class of 2025), who connected with each other for the game’s final score with 5:07 left in the fourth quarter.

Wiley and wide receiver Delvonte Inmon (Class of 2025) spoke on last night’s spring game victory.

After the players spoke, we got a joint interview from Specially Fit Academy cornerbacks coach Jonathan Istache and Moore Haven head coach Emanuel Hendrix. Both are from the Muck, as Istache is from Belle Glade and Hendrix is from Pahokee.

SIDE NOTE: Moore Haven standout Aaryn Askew (Class of 2026) accounted for all of his team’s six points in the third quarter. He cut the Specially Fit Academy lead from 27-0 to 27-6 with 3:21 left in the third frame.
