IMMOKALEE – Let us get this part out of the way now.
The Okeechobee Brahmans varsity football team participated in the Immokalee Indians Spring Jamboree last night (May 23). It featured three teams – Okeechobee, Immokalee, and East Lee County.

Okeechobee played in the first two jamboree games against Immokalee and East Lee County.
Here are the final scores to both contests:
GAME 1: Okeechobee lost to Immokalee, 28-0
GAME 2: Okeechobee lost to East Lee County, 14-0
From the surface, we see that Okeechobee was outscored by both opponents with a 42-0 margin. Also from the surface, Okeechobee mustered only two first downs against Immokalee and got inside an opponent’s red zone area only once in both games – late in the second quarter against the East Lee County Jaguars.
But there is a third surface fact – and it is the most important one.
All results are unofficial, which means they are meant to be used as a learning experience for the upcoming summer offseason and the upcoming fall season.
“We just gotta put more work in,” Okeechobee ‘26 quarterback Christopher Evans said.
Here are a couple of highlights from Evans and his full commentary below.
Okeechobee head coach BJ Pryor weighed in on the Immokalee spring football jamboree and much more. You can hear everything below for yourself.
Okeechobee linebacker Matthew May (‘26) provided his take on last night’s spring jamboree that took place in Immokalee.
“Both games were against tough teams, and we got a chance to see what we needed to work on going into next season,” May said. “There were lots of positives during the games also.”
May went into those positive developments for Okeechobee.
“A big positive I saw was that our o-line and d-line were bigger than the other two teams,” said May, who has three tackles against Immokalee in Game 1 and four tackles against East Lee County in Game 2.
“We have receivers who can catch the ball and make plays, along with a great QB (Christopher Evans) leading them,” May continued. “On defense, the DB’s were playing pretty good for it being a whole new secondary. Along with our d-line getting off the ball fast, the linebackers impressed me a lot. We had two returning LB’s – one who got hurt two days before the game and couldn’t play, and me who got hurt during the game. I’m proud of what I saw from the guys that stepped up in our position.”
We are looking forward to key improvements from the Okeechobee Brahmans varsity football team in the summer offseason months and beyond. Stayed tuned for more Okeechobee updates.
