BELLE GLADE – Armadi Stinfort is currently setting himself up for success at Glades Central.

The 5-foot-8, 138-pound cornerback may have seemed to be in developmental status this past season as a junior. Nonetheless, he has posted the following statistics in seven games played:
•10 tackles
•3 pass breakups
•1 interception
Stinfort’s best individual performance was in Week 5 at home against Dwyer, which resulted in a 24-21 overtime loss. He recorded all three of his pass breakups from this game and added three tackles in the process.
The Raiders cornerback reflected on his junior campaign.
“My junior season I would say was an eye opener,” Stinfort said. “It made me realize that it’s so much I need to work on that I need to get better at. What I loved about it is it taught me that I needed to change that I have to get better. It also brought me and my brothers together because we know we don’t want another season like that. We could’ve bonded more as a team that season instead of putting each other down. When we lost, we could’ve came together and just played. I believe that would have helped us win more.”
Accountability and growth have been taking place with Stinfort since the offseason started several months ago. He spoke on what the presence and impact of Omar Haugabook has done for him as Glades Central’s newest head coach.
“Coach Omar just has been incredible, to be honest,” Stinfort said. “He’s more than just a head coach. He’s a leader, a role model who makes us believe that we can win and gives us that confidence. But what I love about coach Omar most is that he’s always there for us on and off the field. Like whenever you need something no matter what it is, he got you. Coach breaks his back for us, and I couldn’t be more grateful. I love Coach O.”
The spring football circuit has been an indicator of the potential Stinfort has as a cornerback. In two games played at the Glades Central Spring Jamboree on May 17, he registered the following unofficial numbers:
•2 tackles; Game 1 vs. Park Vista in 21-0 win
•3 tackles; Game 2 vs. Wellington in 7-0 win
“The spring game honestly went well, but we still need to improve,” Stinfort said. “We have so much more to work on. I think I played okay. I didn’t have a major impact, so that’s why I say we can do much better. Not just me, but as a group. We made a statement to everyone that we’re here and we’re coming for everyone. They haven’t seen what we’re about to become yet. They just don’t know.”
The summer offseason months of June and July look to be even more promising for Stinfort.
“The goal is just to put in hard work, to be honest,” Stinfort said. “Weight room, track, it doesn’t matter. This summer is meant to get bigger, faster, and stronger. This summer is going to be the hardest offseason we’ve ever had. Those are wise words from coach. Yes we do plan to attend camps to put our names out there, but for the most part we will be at the school just putting in constant work.”
To wrap this up, Stinfort shared his aspirations for how he wants this upcoming fall season to be.
“This season my goals are to get more picks and be more of an impact for us to win,” Stinfort said. “I want to win. It’s my senior year. I want this to be more than just a statement. I want everyone to respect me as a player. I wanna be everywhere on the field and get at least seven picks, 25 tackles, and 10 PBU’s.”
Stinfort did not stop there.
“As a team, my goal for us is to go to state, to be great, and to make everyone understand that Glades Central football is no regular program,” Stinfort said. “We’re here and we’re coming for the top spot.”
