PAHOKEE – Let’s ride Lil’ Pete!
At least one youth shouted this out loud during the first play of Pahokee’s spring game against Martin County on May 16.
Blue Devils 2026 wide receiver Kamari Foreman caught a short pass to the right from 2026 quarterback Xavier Mitchell. He turned that play into a first down, sending the Pahokee crowed in a frenzy.
Foreman’s first of four catches in the spring game would help set up Mitchell’s touchdown pass to budding underclassman Uzarus Boswell and subsequent two-point conversion by 2025 running back Rashon Brown.
The game’s first drive as a whole gave Pahokee an 8-0 lead over Martin County.
Watch the game’s first play below.
“When we were in the huddle, my coach called a screen play,” the 5-foot-10, 150-pound wide receiver said. “I told my QB I was gonna get the ball and turn up. At first I was kinda nervous when I lined up because it was gonna be my first catch. But I shook it off and went to do my thing. My coach was very excited. He was trying to chase me down when I was running.”
Now watch Foreman’s overall performance below.
Foreman on the spring game experience:
“For my first varsity start, I feel like I did pretty good,” Foreman said. “On some of those plays, I could have turned those into touchdowns by showing more of my jukes moves and explosiveness. I could have made more plays to try and win the game for my team.”
While Pahokee lost 17-8 to Martin County, this spring game turned into a breakout moment for Foreman.

Fellow 2026 teammate Ricky Gary Jr. is quite impressed by the potential that Foreman has in this sport.
“Pete is so dedicated to this game,” Gary Jr. said. “You can tell by how he practices. He takes every rep seriously. All he talks about and thinks about is football. He got so much better in one year. He’s a great homeboy and a great person to be around in general.”
Pahokee assistant coach Ricky Gary Sr. concurred with the analysis by his son Ricky Gary Jr.
“He’s a great route runner,” Gary Sr. said. “His quickness allows him to get open at the top of the route with good footwork to match. He’s an absolutely humble kid and by far one of the hardest working kid on the team, without a doubt.”
Foreman has not attended a summer football camp yet. But he is expecting to participate in the Florida State camp sometime this month and others as well.
“Expect a lot,” Foreman said. “I’m a baller for real. Gonna snap at every camp and 7-on-7 tournament I go to. I put the work in 24-7 and work out a lot. But I’m very quiet about the results. Just gonna get better and better each time.”
Fun fact: Foreman is the son of Pahokee great and two-time state championship winner Nu’keese Richardson, who currently is and will always be remembered as one of the best athletes to ever come out of the Muck.
Lil’ Pete (nickname for Foreman) spoke on the sheer level of impact that Pete (nickname for Richardson) has had on his life to date.
“On the field I try a lot to be just like him, especially how explosive and quick he was on the field, along with his trash talking and celebrations,” Foreman said. “But off the field I just be myself. He is very proud that I’m doing well.”
Foreman shared his aspiration for his upcoming junior season with the Pahokee Blue Devils.
“My individual goals for this upcoming season is to become a better leader, get 1,000 receiving yards, and receive a lot of offers,” Foreman said. “My team goals are for us to dominate every team we come across, become better leaders, and of course become state champions.”
