Flag building: Summer with Pahokee Lady Blue Devils

The summer offseason is already one to remember for the Pahokee Lady Blue Devils flag football program.

EVAN NEAL FLAG FOOTBALL TOURNEY

Led by head coach Bryan Crawford, the young ladies represented both the Muck and Palm Beach County quite well this past Saturday (June 8) in the first-ever Evan Neal Flag Football Tournament at Okeechobee High School.

The flag football teams at last weekend’s groundbreaking event were Pahokee, Okeechobee, Lincoln Park Academy (Fort Pierce), Fort Pierce Central, and Jensen Beach.

There were six teams in total, including two from Fort Pierce Central. All except for Pahokee were from the Treasure Coast.

Pahokee would go on to finish 1-1 in pool play with a 19-0 win over Lincoln Park Academy/Okeechobee and 20-0 loss to Fort Pierce Central.

In one tournament game, Pahokee had an early 6-0 lead over Jensen Beach but would lose to the Evan Neal Flag Football Tournament winner by a score of 7-6.

Despite the outcomes, it was the experience that mattered, which they all enjoyed to the fullest.

Crawford provided his take on the Evan Neal Flag Football Tournament experience and more.

WARNER FLAG FOOTBALL CAMP

Less than two weeks after the Evan Neal Flag Football Tournament took place, the girls participated in the Warner University Flag Football Summer Camp in Lake Wales. This occurred from June 18-20.
