There is film to prove this fact, as the 5-foot-10, 200-pound linebacker produced the following statistics in 11 games played this past season:

•95 tackles

•10 tackles for loss

•1 sack

•3 fumble recoveries

Best individual game: Week 10 against Park Vista in 14-3 win

•11 tackles

•2 tackles for loss

•1 pass breakup

“I felt really good to have a good game against a rival opponent,” Robinson said of the Park Vista game.

Robinson recapped his junior season with Santaluces.

“I would say that my junior year was pretty good for me personally,” Robinson said. “I put up some solid numbers, but I know I can do better. I loved how our team was able to face adversity. For example, when we were down 22-0 against our rival Boynton, we were able to fight back and win that game. Even though we weren’t able to get that district championship that we were supposed to have, we were still able to get our first playoff win in 20 years, so that was great. Personally, I feel that I could have been more of a leader to the team, even though I was a junior and I feel that I can limit simple mental mistakes.”

The offseason has been productive for Robinson in more ways than one. He picked up his first offer from Keiser and will be seeking more over the next several months ahead.

“I have received interest from Yale, Brown, Cornell, UPenn, Columbia, Dartmouth, Drake, Marist, FAMU, Southern, and FAU,” Robinson said. “Dartamouth College, Columbia University, Drake University, UPenn, Marist College, and a few more. My main focus is to find a school that will allow me to play good football and get a good degree so I am able to set myself up for success after football.”

Speaking of Keiser, Robinson will be participating in the NAIA school’s 7-on-7 Tournament with his team on Saturday (June 29). He spoke on what he’s looking forward to for this one.

“Personally I am very excited,” Robinson said. “We didn’t play in this tournament last summer, but the summer before we made it all the way to the championship, but lost to Palm Beach Central. This tournament is one of my favorites to play in because you get to see most of the 561 teams out there and get a feel for how you will stack up against Palm Beach County teams. I believe that we can win the whole thing, and I’m just excited to get out there Saturday and compete.”

Robinson touched on how he’s improving his craft at this time.

“This offseason has been going great,” Robinson said. “I have been working with Coach Rayfield Dixon, Coach Johnson, and Coach Clint this offseason to work on skills, techniques, and all the knowledge that is needed to know when playing the linebacker position. Our summer workouts have been great also. Coach Hector [Clavijo] has us come in at 7:30am, and we are lifting, conditioning, and working hard until 11am. We have played in a lot of 7-on-7’s such as Georgia Tech, FSU, FAU, UF, UM, Battle4Broward, and the Miami Dolphins 11on tournament. But personally I have taken a few recruiting trips to some schools and have been to a few camps.”

Robinson spoke about Clavijo’s impact on his overall development as a high school football player.

“What Coach Hector has accomplished since he has been here is nothing but amazing,” Robinson said. “He came into a program that was 1-9. Since then Santaluces made two playoff appearances in a row (won a playoff game), won a district championship, and a record of 16-7 within the past two seasons. Most importantly, within the two years Coach Hector has been here, 10 players have been able to sign to different colleges and keep playing football at the collegiate level.”

Robinson also spoke highly of his defensive coordinator Samuel Putmon, who is a Belle Glade native and Glades Central alum.

“Coach Putmon is also a great coach,” Robinson said. “He has been a huge part in turning this program around. Personally, I believe that he is the best DC in Palm Beach County. He does a great job at getting the absolute best out of all his players, while being able to have fun with us off the field. Coach Putmon has taught me a lot about myself as a player, but he is also a great mentor to be around. I’m just glad that he is came to our program, and I’m excited to play under him for my senior season.”

Speaking of Robinson’s upcoming senior year, he shared his aspirations for his final high school football season.

“Individually, my goal is to make 150 tackles, force three fumbles, and get interceptions, 8+ sacks, 20+ TFLs, lead the county in tackles, finish top 10 in the state in tackles, make First Team All-Defense, make First Team All-State on defense, and finish as a Defensive Player of the Year nominee,” Robinson said. “For the team, my goal is to go undefeated and make it to states. Every time we breakdown our huddles we say “state”, so we take that very serious. We have all the talent and pieces to make a state championship run.”
