LANTANA – Anthony Roman had a memorable high school football career at Santaluces.

As a senior last season, the 5-foot-11, 210-pound linebacker was a forced to be reckoned with on the defensive side of the ball in more ways than one.
You can watch Roman’s film to see it for yourself.
The on-field production directly led to a college opportunity for Roman, who ended up choosing the all-new Palm Beach Elite JUCO as his next destination.
“I had other offers out of state in NAIA and Division III, but it was just too expensive,” Roman said. “I was going to commit to St. Thomas, but they offered too late. And in the middle of me committing, they ran out of spots.”
Roman expounded on how the St. Thomas situation fell through.
“I was invited on an official visit Feb. 5, two days before signing day,” Roman said. “And I was told they filled up with spots the day after. But I’m still in contact with them somewhat. When I’m done with my JUCO years, that can still be an option for me to go to.”
Between the St. Thomas situation and the decision to go with Palm Beach Elite JUCO as his college destination, Roman took part in the eighth annual Orange Bowl Showcase at St. Thomas in Miami. This gave the Santaluces 2024 alum a moment to display his skills to scores of colleges in attendance.
In essence, the Orange Bowl Showcase served as a precursor to what is happening now for Roman.

And now with that said, Roman is focused on Palm Beach Elite JUCO, a new college football program that is based in Palm Beach County.
“In the little time I’ve been with them, I can say I would recommend the team,” Roman said. “If you’re looking for another chance to make it to the next level, Palm Beach Elite is a good place to consider.”
