“What I love about my junior season was having an opportunity,” Williams said. “I finally got my opportunity to show what I can do. I really wish we could’ve won some more games. I really care about team success.”

As a result of his junior campaign, Williams gained four FBS college scholarship offers in the offseason. They came from USF, Syracuse, Western Kentucky, Troy, and Morgan State.

The consensus three-star edge rusher (On3, Rivals, and 247Sports) decided to go with USF over the other four schools on April 14. He received his official scholarship offer from the Bulls on Aug. 1.

“To be honest, that school is really home and family when I went there on my visits,” Williams said. “I think that school fits me the best out of every other school that was recruiting me.”

Williams loves the USF coaching staff, led by second-year head coach Alex Golesh.

“The coaching staff I think is definitely top five in the nation to me,” Williams said with a grinning smile. “They actually care about you. They don’t care about just winning. They care about their players going somewhere in life.”

Williams gets the culture that he wants to have right here at Centennial, starting with second-year head coach Jacob Turay.

“Coach Turay is a very caring and confident coach,” Williams said. “He trusts in my abilities and the rest of my teammates. He’s a natural head coach and he got his opportunity last year. We didn’t have a great team, but we definitely have improved as players and as coaches. So with that, I see a very successful season ahead.”

Williams did not stop there.

“All the coaches are honestly loving,” Williams said. “I get a phone call each night from Coach T. All love always. Coach Drew Harrison, always all love everyday.”

With that said, all of the attention now turns to Week 1 on the road against Wellington. The season opener is tonight (Aug. 22) with a 6:30 p.m. kickoff in Wellington.

“Honestly I like us for the dub (win),” Williams said. “My goal for tonight is 10 tackles, one sack, and one forced fumble. We didn’t have the resulted we wanted to last week (35-0 home loss to Jensen Beach in the kickoff classic on Aug. 15). But I feel like we have tightened it up this week. We’re going to get on the right track this season.”

Willams shared his aspirations for the next few months ahead.

“My individual goals probably will be 90 tackles, 10 sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries,” Williams said. “And as of right now, I do plan on signing with USF in December. But I have had some good schools reaching out to me.”

Without going any further into it, Williams wants everyone to do one thing.

Stay tuned.
