History in the making: Palm Beach Elite JUCO set for first game ever

WEST PALM BEACH – Palm Beach County has its first junior college football team beginning this season.

The Palm Beach Elite Canes (JUCO) are based in West Palm Beach and it features players from Palm Beach County, the Treasure Coast, Broward County, Miami-Dade County, and all points north and west of South Florida. This collective features a mix of players who graduated from high school in 2024, 2023, and years earlier than that.

It is safe to say that there is a nice mix of youth and experience on this first-year program, which is led by head coach Kendrick Edwards.

On this past Sunday (Sept. 15), the Palm Beach Elite JUCO team held its first open scrimmage. There were some key plays made by a variety of players, some of which you will see right below.

After the scrimmage took place, a college football referee spent time with the players and gave them some tips on how to play the game as clean as possible.

To wrap it all up, groups of players were happy to speak about the journeys to Palm Beach Elite and more.
