They are champs: King’s Academy captures District 11-2A title

WEST PALM BEACH – The King’s Academy Lions are the first high school football team in Palm Beach County to officially clinch a spot in this year’s FHSAA playoffs.

Led by head coach, Belle Glade native, and Glades Day alum Dan Burack, the home team overcame an early 6-0 deficit to take down the Somerset Academy Canyons Cougars in a 28-14 win on Friday night (Oct. 11).

King’s Academy (7-0) won the FHSAA District 11-2A title outright with meaningful production from both its offense and defense. It scored 21 unanswered points in the second, third, and fourth quarters before Somerset Academy Canyons (2-4) attempted a late rally.
