Top Muckstepper Performances from Week 8

PALM BEACH COUNTY/TREASURE COAST – Due to Hurricane Milton taking place last week, almost all of our area’s Week 8 games were postponed or cancelled.

However, there were a few games in our area that were rescheduled for Monday night (Oct. 14). As a result, three high school players from the Muck were in the spotlight.

Normally, the No. 1-ranked Muckstepper would be honored as the Muck City Media Player of the Week. But for this time only, we will honor all three of the following Mucksteppers as they are selected as our co-Muck City Media Players of Week 8.

All three of our Mucksteppers will be specially honored in alphabetical order. You can see it all right below.

OL ZYON HARRIS – TREASURE COAST

Offensive lineman Zyon Harris (2025) has been the anchorman of the Treasure Coast Titans offense this season. He showed up in a big way with four pancakes on Monday night (Oct. 14) in a key District 11-7A game against the Fort Pierce Central Cobras

This was the best game overall in seven games for the Titans (1-6; 1-0 in 11-7A play) as they earned a 36-0 shutout road win over the Cobras (4-3; 0-2 in 11-7A play).

“It feels really good to get our first win of the season and just use this momentum that we have moving into this next week of district play,” said Harris, who now had 23 pancakes on the season.

The next game for Treasure Coast is in Week 9 on Friday night (Oct. 18; 7 p.m. kickoff) at home against Centennial (3-4; 0-1 in 11-7A play). If Treasure Coast wins this one, then it will highly likely earn a spot in the Class 7A playoffs next month.

We will see what happens as the 6-foot, 275-pound offensive lineman and Pahokee native looks to help lead his team into the Class 7A postseason

RB PAUL HENDRIX – MARTIN COUNTY

For the Martin Bowl against South Fork on Monday night (Oct. 14), running back Paul Hendrix (2026) played a role in his team’s wild 35-25 home win. He registered 7 carriers for 49 yards and added 15 receiving yards in the 10-point victory.

“I have been dealing with a sprain to the back of my ankle,” Hendrix said. “I didn’t get my normal carries. It could be better. We have Jupiter on Friday at home.”

In six games played this season, the 6-foot-1, 200-pound running back from Pahokee has garnered the following statistics:

•72 carries for 462 yards and 3 touchdowns

•7 receptions for 96 yards

•558 total yards

Hendrix has had two games of 100+ rushing yards this season. They came in Week 1 against Sebring (21 carries for 121 yards in a 20-12 road loss) and Week 3 against Dwyer (20 carries for 102 yards and one touchdown in a 17-7 home win).

Hendrix on how his junior season has gone so far with Martin County:

“Despite the ups and down from my injury, so far it’s been good and definitely interesting,” Hendrix said. “I’m making gains in yards and I wanted to go harder these last couple of games. But know that my health comes first.”

Hendrix did not stop there.

“Just out of precaution my coach didn’t play me much,” Hendrix said of his team’s most recent game against South Fork. “But I’m making a full recovery and ready to cause mayhem. Academically it’s going great. My GPA is 3.9. I’m focused, I’m hungry, and I’m showing and proving. It’s nice to know that I have great teammates behind me.”

The Jupiter game is in Week 9, and it will be held on Friday night (Oct. 18; 7 p.m. kickoff) for Martin County’s homecoming.

Martin County is currently at 5-2 on the season with a five-game winning streak. It is 2-0 in District 13-5A play with a chance to win the 13-5A district title and earn a Class 5A postseason spot in Week 10 at home against Heritage (Palm Bay) on Friday, Oct. 25 (7 p.m. kickoff).

ATH JEREMIAH PARKS – WEST PALM BEACH CHRISTIAN ACADEMY

It has been a long layoff for Jeremiah Parks (2025) and the West Palm Beach Christian Academy Saints.

But after six games played, the senior athlete from Belle Glade has helped his team garner a 3-3 overall record. To reach the .500 mark, West Palm Beach Christian Academy earned a 28-12 home win over SmartEn Sports Academy (0-7 overall record) on Monday night (Oct. 14) in Delray Beach.

In this most recent game, the 6-foot-3, 185-pound standout recorded four tackles, two pass breakups, and an interception return for a touchdown. All of this action took place in the first half of the Saints 16-point victory.

Parks on the pick-six against the Goats:

“Not just last game, but in general things are getting easier on the field,” Parks said. “The pick-six was really just me being disciplined in my zone during the play. While the QB was rolling out, he threw the ball up and I just made a play.”

Parks on how his senior campaign has been going to date:

“My season is going well so far,” Parks said. “Due to unfortunate circumstances, Monday night was our first game in a month.”

The next game for West Palm Beach Christian Academy is tonight (Oct. 17; 6 p.m. kickoff) at home against TRU Prep Academy (2-5).

The game location tonight for West Palm Beach Christian Academy-TRU Prep Academy is at the following location:

Seacrest Sports Complex and Hilltopper Stadium

2505 S Seacrest Blvd

Delray Beach, FL 33444

PLEASE NOTE: This is the only high school varsity football game going on tonight in Palm Beach County. Please show the Saints some support if you can.

Congratulations to Harris, Hendrix, and Parks for being our Muck City Media Players of Week 8.
