SEBRING – The Glades Central Raiders found a way to outlast the Sebring Blue Streaks in a 21-17 road win on Friday night (Oct. 18).
It was a back-and-forth game from start to finish with four lead changes taking place in the second half. The winning play took place with 1:17 left in the fourth quarter as Glades Central junior quarterback Taj Barnes connected with senior wide receiver Chris Pompilus for a 27-yard touchdown pass.

An extra point was made to represent the final score.
Watch how the game-winner went down in favor of Glades Central (7-0):
Sebring (4-3) actually led for much of this one, with leads of 7-0 in the first half, 10-7 in the third quarter, and 17-14 in the fourth quarter.
But Glades Central found a way to punch back each time after a Sebring score.
With the win, Glades Central is 7-0 for the first time since 2011. It is arguably the best season to date for the Raiders in 13 years.
Side note: Glades Central senior wide receiver Gregory King led the team with seven catches for 112 yards against Sebring.
High School on SI’s Andy Villamarzo provided some commentary on King’s performance from last night.
“I was impressed with King to find open spaces in the defense and his uncanny ability to get open on third and fourth down situations,” Villamarzo said.
Next game for Glades Central: Week 10 at home against King’s Academy (8-0) – Thursday, Oct. 24 at 6:30 p.m.
