DELRAY BEACH – From being overlooked to being celebrated, Teddy Hoffmann has had a high school football experience to remember.

The Atlantic (Delray Beach) 2025 wide receiver (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) concluded his amazing journey in the Class 5A-Region 3 final against 14-time state champion St. Thomas Aquinas on the night of Friday, Nov. 29. He had perhaps the best all-around game of the decade in Palm Beach County with the following jaw-dropping statistics:
OFFENSE
•12 catches, 240 receiving yards, 4 receiving touchdowns; 34-yard touchdown pass; 274 total yards, 5 total touchdowns
DEFENSE
•4 tackles
SPECIAL TEAMS
•1-for-1 in extra point attempts
We may never see a performance like this again. This is a shining example of why Hoffmann is the undisputed No. 1 overall player in Palm Beach County and the odds-on favorite to win the Lou Groza Player of the Year Award next Monday night (Dec. 9).
Though Atlantic (11-2 final record) suffered a stunning 49-42 home loss to St. Thomas Aquinas (10-3) in overtime, Hoffmann did everything he could to push his team past the Class 5A-Region 3 final round.
Hoffmann finished his senior season at Atlantic with these amazing statistics:
OFFENSE
•69 catches, 1,179 receiving yards, 23 receiving touchdowns; 34-yard touchdown pass; 1,213 total yards, 24 total touchdowns
DEFENSE
•10 total tackles
SPECIAL TEAMS
•2 kickoff returns, 36 yards; 2 punt returns, 80 yards; 116 total yards
TOTAL YARDS: 1,329 for both offense and special teams
PLEASE NOTE: We are not including Hoffmann’s extra points made right now, as we need to confirm this before posting. Expect an update on it soon.
Hoffmann spoke on his legendary performance against St. Thomas Aquinas.
“It was a great experience,” said Hoffmann, who transferred from St. Andrew’s to Atlantic in the offseason. “Coming to Atlantic I had a vision of winning a state championship. We knew we had to get through St. Thomas and I wanted this game. We fought hard and should’ve won that game. But much to respect to them. They are a great team. I’m just blessed to be in this position with my teammates and coaches.”
Hoffmann reflected on his senior season with Atlantic.
“It stood out to me in how hard we worked,” Hoffmann said. “With the standard of Atlantic football, it changed me as a player. The player development in the program is crazy. Everyone got so much better. I’m so grateful to play for this team and staff.”
Now that his high school football playing days have concluded, Hoffmann is focused on finding a college football home. He started with his verbal commitment earlier this year to Appalachian State before recently flipping to FAU.
But with three new Power 4 offers from Florida State, Boston College, and NC State, it is a toss-up as to where Hoffmann will ultimately end up signing his letter of intent to. We will know for sure sometime on Friday (Dec. 6).
And then on next Monday, we will see if the Lou Groza Player of the Year will go to Hoffmann at the West Palm Beach Marriott.
Hoffmann’s high school football career started at Boca Raton as a freshman in 2021. He moved on to St. Andrew’s for his sophomore and junior seasons in 2022 and 2023.
And now he wrapped it all up at Atlantic in 2024.
“I’m just extremely thankful and blessed i’ve been working hard and trusting in God for these four years of high school,” Hoffmann said. “And now everything is starting to fall in place. All my teammates and my brothers, they make it easier for me. I love every single one of them.”
What would it mean for Hoffmann to win the Lou Groza Award for Player of the Year?
“It would feel great,” Hoffmann said. “I felt like I’ve been a game changer this season. Nothing’s possible without God and I’m super blessed. And I want to give all the credit to my coaches and teammates for pushing me to be the best version of myself.”
