DELRAY BEACH – The most significant individual moment of the week in Palm Beach County happened on the morning of Friday, Dec. 6.

In what was a momentous occasion at Atlantic Community High School, senior athlete Teddy Hoffmann (6-foot-1, 185 pounds) made the biggest decision of his life to date. He went on to announce in front of many onlookers at the school’s auditorium that his college destination is NC State.
Hoffmann went with NC State over fellow ACC schools Boston College and Florida State. He flipped his ultimate commitment from FAU, which was one of his four finalists.
“I just felt so much love from them,” Hoffmann said of the Wolfpack. “It was a great opportunity for me and my family. I prayed about it countless times and God led me to make this decision. I can’t be more happy about it. I’m very blessed and thankful.”
Hoffmann received an offer from NC State on Nov. 17 and took his official visit to the Raleigh (N.C.) institution on the weekend of Nov. 23-24.
From that point on, we witnessed Hoffmann’s legendary game against St. Thomas Aquinas in the Class 5A-Region 4 final on Nov. 29. He caught four touchdown passes and threw for another one to notch 274 total yards and five total touchdowns, while adding four tackles on defense and an extra point made on special teams.
The Rivals.com three-star athlete went on to earn two more ACC offers from Florida State and Boston College on Monday (Dec. 3). It was rumored that Florida State would be the school that flips Hoffmann from FAU, but NC State won the three-team ACC race for Palm Beach County’s No. 1 overall player from the Class of 2025.
Hoffmann finished his senior season at Atlantic with 24 total touchdowns and 1,329 total combined yards on offense and special teams.
SIDE NOTE: The odds-on favorite for the Lou Groza High School Player of the Year will team up with fellow high school senior and Santaluces cornerback Caden Gordon, who signed his letter of intent with NC State on Wednesday (Dec. 4).
