WEST PALM BEACH – The top-seeded Keiser Seahawks used a relatively balanced attack to overcome a challenge today (Dec. 7) from the tenth-seeded Georgetown College Tigers.
Graduate senior quarterback Shea Spencer set a school playoff record by throwing for four touchdown passes as he led his team to a 38-22 home victory. He completed 23 of 31 passes for 239 yards and no interceptions, with two touchdowns each going to freshman wide receiver Refeno Vangates (six catches, 53 yards) and sophomore wide receiver Maurico Porcha (six catches, 52 yards).
Spencer went on to earn the Offensive Player of the Game for his efforts.

The game’s first score came off a 5-yard scoring pass from Spencer to Vangates, which gave Keiser a 7-0 lead at the 1:31 mark of the first quarter. But shortly thereafter, Georgetown answered back with a passing score of their own.
At the end of the first quarter, quarterback Gehrig Slunaker connected with wide receiver Luke Olive for a 69-yarder to tie the game up at 7-7.
The second quarter was all about Keiser, which had three scoring drives in this frame. The first two successful opportunities came off passing touchdowns from Spencer to Porcha, both of which were 12-yarders to the end zone (7:48 left – 14-7 lead; 1:54 left – 21-7 lead).
To close out the first half, Keiser got a 28-yard field goal from kicker Nico Cavanillas to make it 24-7 over Georgetown.
The second half was where the Keiser balance would be on full display.
After Georgetown cut the lead to 24-14 at the 9:37 mark of the third quarter, Keiser went to work with a series of runs and passes on a drive that took 8:07 off the clock. It ended with an 8-yard scoring run at the 1:30 mark from junior running back Andrew Burnette (25 carries, 97 yards; three catches, 21 yards; 118 total yards, one touchdown).
After Cavanillas connected on an extra point – he went 5-for-5 today – Keiser’s lead was extended to 31-14.
In the fourth quarter, we got an eight-play, 44-yard drive that lasted for more than four minutes. Spencer’s fourth and final touchdown passes was an 8-yarder to Vangates with 7:47 left, as Keiser (11-0) extended its lead further to 38-14 over Georgetown (9-3 final record).
The final score of this was came off a 3-yard touchdown run from Georgetown’s Drew Baker with 4:02 left.

GAME NOTES: Keiser’s offense had 27 first downs and gained 419 total yards, while its defense allowed only 15 first downs and 232 total yards to Georgetown. The third down conversion rate was 68.4 percent for Keiser’s offense (13-for-19), while Georgetown’s offense had just an 18.1 percent success rate (2-for-11).
