DELRAY BEACH – The 2024 Lou Groza Player of the Year and NC State signee, Teddy Hoffmann, hosted his first annual holiday camp on Monday afternoon (Dec. 23) at Merritt Park in Delray Beach.

“I just wanted to bring a place for the kids to come have fun and get some gear before Christmas,” Hoffmann said. “It’s really all about them and I just want to give back to the community.”
Hoffmann, who has played at Boca Raton, St. Andrew’s, and Atlantic, has amassed over 3,000 yards and 50 touchdowns during his high school football career. This past season at Atlantic, the speedy and lengthy wide receiver caught 69 passes for 1,179 yards and 23 touchdowns.
He recently put pen to paper and signed with NC State, choosing the Wolfpack over Boston College, FAU, and Florida State.
“I’m going to ball and do what I got to do, but at the same time, I want these kids to have a platform and be able to do what I’m doing and then more,” Hoffmann said. “I want to be a good influence and role model and be someone they can talk to when they have anything going on.”
Atlantic head coach Jamelle Murray had a big part in setting up this event.
“This event shows exactly who he (Hoffmann) is and what type of teammate he is,” Murray said. “He cares about all of his guys and he just wants to see all of the guys around him in a great position and be better. It shows on and off the field since day one.”
Atlantic running back Deandre Desinor showed up at the camp to support his high school teammate.
“This is big,” Desinor said. “Just doing this in Delray Beach… bringing all the little kids out and having fun. It’s a great environment and a great atmosphere. You could see out here that he’s a great person. He’s for the kids. He likes to see everybody get better. He’s a great guy on and off the field.”
Desinor signed to play at the next level with West Virginia. He rushed for almost 3,200 yards and 41 touchdowns during his high school football career.
Other players at the camp to support Hoffmann’s efforts were FAU signee and St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Branden Hoch, Cardinal Gibbons quarterback Jayden Torres, West Boca Raton defensive lineman Xavier Reid, West Boca Raton linebacker Maxwell Reid, Denison University and St. Andrew’s DB Daxon Bass, and many others.
The camp featured multiple activities, including position related drills, 1-on-1’s, and 7-on-7’s. In terms of competitions, there were the following:
•Fastest man competition
•Quarterback accuracy
•Furthest quarterback throw
•Lineman challenges
The event was packed with giveaways and prizes, all thanks to generous sponsors like Battle. That’s when the energy hit a whole new level. The kids, eager to level up their gear, surged toward the prizes—backpacks, football equipment, and more—creating an electrifying atmosphere.
The competition for swag was fierce, but it wasn’t just about the prizes—it was about the excitement of being part of something bigger. Each giveaway became a moment of triumph, a reminder of how this camp wasn’t just teaching football skills, but also inspiring confidence and ambition.
Luckily for the kids, Hoffmann doesn’t expect this camp to be a one-time thing.
“We are going to have a bunch of camps… summer time, winter time, spring… all of that,” Hoffmann said.
