The West Palm Beach Christian Academy 2025 athlete had a slow start to his college recruiting process. But over time, a couple of schools showed him a level of interest and eventually extended him offers.

They came from Framingham State and University of Nebraska – Kearney Loper. But when it was time to choose between the two schools, Park went with UNK Loper on Nov. 14, 2024.

Parks spoke on why he chose UNK Loper – based in Kearney, Neb. – as his college football destination.

“Well first and foremost, I wasn’t showed much love from any schools at all,” the 6-foot-3, 190-pound athlete said of the Division II institution. “I feel as if I am underrated, and when I had my conversation with Coach [Nate] Willis from UNK, they made me feel well valued. They really wanted me to be there. All the coaches text me frequently and check on me day to day. I just love that about them. They make me feel welcomed and valued, unlike many other schools.”

The connection between Parks and Willis mattered a lot because both are from the Muck. Case in point: Parks is a Belle Glade native, while Willis is a Pahokee native.

This is a continuation of what Parks has experienced at West Palm Beach Christian Academy, as Belle Glade native and Glades Central alum Eddie Poole Jr. was his head coach with the Saints this past season.

“It’s great that he fills the shoes Coach EP left to the T,” Parks said. “I mean they are great guys that are like family to me. I could go to them for things beyond football and I feel like it is an important thing for me. That played a big role in my commitment.”

Parks credited Poole Jr. on his development and growth as a football player with West Palm Beach Christian Academy.

“Coach EP, I honestly can say he is the reason I am where I am now,” Parks said. “I don’t think I would’ve went through my journey with anyone else as a head coach. He kept me highly motivated and on track to become who I am today as a football player and also a man. I will forever respect, love, and appreciate him for everything he has done.”

Parks parlayed Poole Jr’s unwavering belief to a level of success on the field as a senior. He registered the following statistics:

•52 tackles

•4 interceptions – 2 pick-sixes

•1 sack

•1 forced fumble

Parks finished as the Muck’s No. 22-ranked player and Palm Beach County’s No. 79-ranked player from the Class of 2025.

“Overall my season was good,” Parks said. “I wish I could have played a little more on the offensive side, but it was a good season. I had a great time and can’t wait to play at the next level.”

PLEASE NOTE: Parks may be signing with UNK Loper sometime tomorrow (Feb. 5 – National Signing Day).
