National Signing Day 2025: Muck City makes history on multiple fronts

A lot of activity took place today in several locations for this year’s National Signing Day on Wednesday (Feb. 5).

For starters, while we had many high school football seniors with Muck ties officially signing with their respective colleges today, we also had several Muck influences on the college level help their own get to the next level.

It is quite refreshing to see the Muck reaching back to help their own in a meaningful way, something that goes beyond just the numbers and something that only someone from the Muck or with Muck ties can ever understand.

TREASURE COAST

National Signing Day began in Port St. Lucie, where we saw Pahokee native and Treasure Coast senior offensive lineman Zyon Harris sign with Fort Hays State, a Division II school based in Hays, Kan.

Why is this significant to the Muck?

The reason here is because fellow Pahokee native Amari Angram-Boldin is currently in his third year on the Tigers coaching staff, now serving as the offensive line coach. The direct tie, besides being from Pahokee, is that we have a Muckstepper offensive line coach reaching back to help a Muckstepper offensive lineman reach the next level.

Yes, this one is really special in more ways than one.

Harris was one of two Treasure Coast Titans to sign today. The other one was senior linebacker Leland Beckford, who inked with three-time NAIA national finalist and 2023 NAIA national champion Keiser.

See for yourself.

MUCK CITY: PAHOKEE AND GLADES CENTRAL

For any National Signing Day event that has to do with the Muck, all road will lead to either Pahokee or Glades Central – or both.

This year we saw some signs of a resurgence directly on the Muck, as we can honestly say that several players from both schools signed with colleges today.

Let us start with the Pahokee Blue Devils.

Led by head coach Carlos Lammons, we had the following players on the signing table inside the Pahokee High School auditorium:

•Kani Smith (2025 linebacker) – Signed with FIU

•J’Tavius Jones (2025 defensive back) – Signed with Eastern Kentucky

•Charvorious Higgins (2025 wide receiver) – Signed with North Dakota State College of Science

•Rashon Brown (2025 running back) – Chose to sign with Bethune-Cookman over the likes of Western Kentucky, Bowling Green, and West Virginia

Hear words from Brown as he reflected on his decision to go with Bethune-Cookman.

Meanwhile, Glades Central had three players signing today. A media pool was created to accommodate two of the three players with solo moments, followed by a moment with head coach and reigning Lou Groza Coach of the Year Omar Haugabook.

Here is a list of our Glades Central Raiders seniors who signed with their respective colleges:

•Jerry Alcindor (2025 offensive lineman) – Signed with Bethune-Cookman

•Tavarion James (2025 defensive back) – Signed with Eastern Kentucky

Also signing later today was:

•McKinley Holman (2025 offensive lineman) – Signed with Midland

Side note: Sadler Soles (2025 offensive lineman) is now with Anderson. He has signed there last month.

For Haugabook, this is a big moment in more ways than one. In his first full year as a head coach, the award-winning leader can say that he sent four players to college.

As for Lammons, he can say that he got three players signed to a college in his first full year as a head coach – Brown, Jones, and Smith.

The reason why Lammons has three instead of four is because Higgins started the 2024 calendar year with year and transferred to the next school we will mention right below.

MOORE HAVEN

For the first time in this history of Moore Haven and Glades County, the Terriers had five players sign to colleges. Four of them were together this afternoon at the Moore Haven Junior-Senior High School gymnasium:

•Zion Booth (2025 linebacker) – Signed with Edward Waters

•Roobens Victor (2025 athlete) – Signed with North Dakota State College of Science

•Higgins – Signed with NDSCS at two different schools (Pahokee / Moore Haven)

•Michael Liriano (2025 athlete) – Signed with Keiser

Not at Moore Haven today was:

•Levi Watson (2025 offensive lineman) – Signed with Ave Maria

This historic moment was made possible by former Terriers head coach and Pahokee native Emanuel Hendrix, who led the 2024 team with its host of seniors in position to sign their letters to colleges.

PALM BEACH COUNTY

For the first time in program history, West Palm Beach Christian Academy hosted a National Signing Day ceremony.

Led by headmaster, Belle Glade native, and Muck coaching legend Willie Snead III, a high school senior from the Muck signed with UNK Loper, a Division II school based in Kearney, Neb. The player’s name is Jeremiah Parks (2025 athlete).

The head coach for the Saints this past season in 2024 was Eddie Poole Jr., who is a Belle Glade native and Glades Central alum.

Meanwhile, Santaluces senior athlete and Pahokee native AnaTay Smith signed with Ferris State, a Division II school based in Big Rapids, Mich. He has been supported by Santaluces defensive coordinator, Belle Glade native, and Glades Central alum Samuel Putmon.

Over at Inlet Grove, head coach Rashad Jackson (Pahokee native; Glades Central alum) had two of his players sign today:

•Nicholas Royal (2025 offensive lineman) – Signed with Fort Hays State

•Brian Boston (2025 athlete) – Signed with Mt. St. Joseph’s

Supported by Jackson is athletic director Hikeem Banks, a Pahokee native and high school alumnus. Other Muck support comes from his the likes of assistant coaches Jamarious Rowley and Gilbert Grantlin – both of which are Glades Central alums.

Moving down south to Boca Raton, assistant defensive coach Steven Leggett (Belle Glade native and Glades Central alum) play a role in the eventual signing to Jamestown by senior athlete Jordan Davis.

COLLEGE IMPACTS

Let us give a special recognition to the following Mucksteppers who are on the next level:

•KD Fletcher – FIU Director of Recruiting/Football Operations; Belle Glade native

•Bryan Crawford – FIU Offensive Analyst; Pahokee native

•Nate Willis – UNK Loper defensive backs coach; Pahokee native

Fletcher played an instrumental role in Smith landing a roster spot with FIU, while Willis did his part to help Parks earn a spot with UNK Loper.

OTHER SIGNINGS FROM THE PAST

Let us not forget about four Mucksteppers who signed earlier to their respective colleges:

•Temarion Foster (Inlet Grove 2025 defensive back) – Signed with Jacksonville State in January 2025

•Nedrick Boldin (Palm Beach Central 2025 wide receiver) – Signed with Boston College on Dec. 4, 2024 and enrolled there in January 2025

•Damon Allen (West Boca Raton 2025 cornerback) – Signed with FAU on Dec. 4, 2024 and enrolled there in January 2025

•Jaylin Brown (Cardinal Newman 2025 running back) – Signed with Pitt on Dec. 4, 2024

FINAL ANALYSIS

In total, we have a total of 65 high school seniors from the Class of 2025 who are from the Muck or have Muck ties. Of this amount, 17 have gone on to sign with a college as of Feb. 5.

Guess what?

Expect that number of 17 to grow over the next few months ahead. We will make sure we stay on top of any new developments with others signing to colleges later.

We salute and congratulate every single high school senior who has put pen to paper by securing their college future for the next several years ahead.
