WEST PALM BEACH – Where do we begin with our most decorated and heralded high school football senior from the Muck?

Cardinal Newman 2025 running back Jaylin “JBo” Brown is a loyal one. He waited his turn to be the the Crusaders featured running back for two seasons, as he learned from the likes of fellow running backs Tovani Mizell (2021 starter; now with Kentucky) and Dylan Bennett (2022 starter; open transfer from Kentucky) during his freshman and sophomore seasons.
When the 5-foot-11, 195-pound running back and Pahokee native got his time to shine as a junior and senior, he certainly made the most of it.
We can say that Brown’s senior season may have been his best one overall, as he helped lead Cardinal Newman (10-2 final record) to the Class 1A state semifinal round. He has been a reliable anchor for an overachieving program that has exceeded expectations in more ways than one.
Brown finished the 2024 season with the following offensive statistics in 12 games played:
•139 carries, 1,167 yards, 17 touchdowns
•14 catches, 168 yards, 1 touchdown
He also had at least one memorable game on the defensive side of the ball as a linebacker.
The Crusaders running back would go on to sign with Pitt on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 2024 – Early National Signing Day.
Exactly one month later – Jan. 4 – Brown was selected by head coaches and media members as the 561 Showcase Running Back of the Year.
Hear Brown’s words on how it felt to be honored as Palm Beach County’s best running back at that moment and much, much more.
Additionally, Brown was honored by ESPN West Palm Beach as its Land Rover Player of the Week during his senior season. He was also selected as ESPN Top 63’s No. 7-ranked player from Palm Beach County and the Treasure Coast.
The consensus three-star running back (Rivals, 247 Sports, On3) was selected by the Palm Beach Post to the All-County First Team Offense and by the Sun-Sentinel to the Class 4A-1A First Team Offense. He was also ranked by East Coast Exposure and Muck City Media as Palm Beach County’s No. 4-ranked player from the Class of 2025.
What may be the most special honor is being ranked alongside his brother, Pahokee 2025 running back and Bethune-Cookman signee Rashon Brown, as Muck City Media’s top two players from the Muck.
Both Brown players faced off against each other in Week 4 of the regular season. While Jaylin’s team earned a 35-8 home win over Rashon’s team, the Pitt signee was impressed with what the Bethune-Cookman signee put on display.
JBo in Week 4: 13 carries, 65 yards, two touchdowns; 20-yard reception; 85 total yards
Rashon in Week 4: 17 carries, 149 yards, one touchdown
This made for a win-win situation with both Brown Brothers.
What more can we say about the humble great?
Brown is a track star. He reached the Class 2A state title meet last spring in the 100 meter dash and was part of a venerable 4×100 team for Cardinal Newman.
Here are a couple of highlight moments from Brown during the 2024 track season:
Brown has not enrolled with Pitt yet, which means we will get to see him this upcoming spring running track for the next few months with Cardinal Newman.
As he ends his spectacular high school run, we will remember Brown as one of Palm Beach County’s best all-around athletes and overall ambassadors from this decade.
We are looking forward to Brown continuing his legacy at Pitt for a potentially memorable college football career. We wish him nothing but the best in all of his current and future endeavors.
