BOYNTON BEACH – We have a three-peat at The Set.

Somerset Academy Canyons sophomore quarterback Ava Wotipka threw a total of six touchdown passes as she helped lead the No. 1 seed Lady Cougars (13-3) to a blistering 41-6 home win on Thursday night (April 17) over No. 3 seed Oxbridge Academy (12-4).
With the win, Canyons has earned the District 11-1A title. Meanwhile, Oxbridge has earned the District 11-1A runner-up trophy.
Watch some of Wotipka’s touchdown passes below and see how Canyons broke open a seemingly close game in the first half – the score was 14-6 in favor of Canyons until the 2:00 mark of the second quarter.
Canyons scored 27 unanswered points from 2:00 left in the first half until the fourth quarter for its 35-point margin of victory.
Now that the Lady Cougars have hoisted their third straight district title – they also won it in 2023 and 2024 – the No. 1 seed in Class 1A-Region 3 is a certainty. This means that they will be at home for the regional quarterfinals (Wednesday, April 23), the regional semifinals (Monday, April 28), and the regional finals (Thursday, May 1) – provided they make it this far in the FHSAA Class 1A state playoffs.
Hear words from Somerset Academy Canyons defensive coordinator Greg Tinsley, Wotipka, and sophomore athlete Jazlyne James.
Meanwhile, you can hear words from Oxbridge Academy head coach Remington Young right below.

This means we will have at least 14 teams selected in the FHSAA state playoffs.
A total of 18 teams have a shot at hearing their names in the FHSAA Flag Football Selection Show. But more than likely, we will have 16 teams in this year’s FHSAA flag football state playoffs.
The FHSAA Flag Football Selection Show will be held on Friday (April 18) at 2 p.m. It will be aired on the FHSAA’s YouTube channel.
