PALM BEACH COUNTY – We have completed the first week of the 2025 regular season.
With that being said, we will briefly highlight our best high school football players on the Muck and on the coast. Everyone on this list – and all future lists – are from Belle Glade, Pahokee, and/or South Bay.
Let us get right to our Top 10 and Honorable Mentions from Week 1.
1. QB Xavier Mitchell (Pahokee): 308 passing yards, 3 touchdowns, no interceptions, no lost fumbles in 27-25 road win over Palm Beach Central
2. RB/ATH Samuel Arnold (Pahokee): 80-yard touchdown catch; 250+ total yards in 27-25 road win over Palm Beach Central
3. QB Taj Barnes (Glades Central): 9-for-12 passing, 135 yards, 1 touchdown, 1 interception; 5 carries, 59 yards, 1 touchdown; 194 total yards, 2 total touchdowns
4. RB Ar’Maud Stinfort (Glades Central): 10 carries, 178 yards, 3 touchdowns; 187 total yards in 38-14 home win over Seminole Ridge
5. ATH Gary Mann (Glades Central): 7 tackles, 5 tackles for loss, 1 sack for loss of 12 yards, 1 pass breakup, 1 forced fumble in 38-14 home win over Seminole Ridge
6. RB/LB Ramsey “Rambo” Rimes (Glades Day): 3 total touchdowns (1 interception return for touchdown, 1 rushing touchdown, 1 passing touchdown) in 49-21 home loss to St. Edward’s
7. QB Jyron Hughley (Cardinal Newman): 6-for-9 passing, 160 pass yards, 1 passing touchdown, no interceptions, no fumbles lost; 3 carries, 20 yards, 1 rushing touchdown; 180 total yards, 2 total touchdowns in 49-0 road win over John Carroll
8. WR/TE Antoine Lawrence (Pahokee): 2 touchdown catches in 27-25 road win over Palm Beach Central
9. WR/DB Jacaris Jones (Glades Day): 6 receptions, 120+ yards; 2 tackles in 49-21 home loss to St. Edward’s
10. DB Daryl Goring Jr. (Glades Central): 10 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, 1 pass breakup; in 38-14 home win over Seminole Ridge
HONORABLE MENTIONS: WEEK 1
•Pahokee defensive line: 17 quarterback hurries and pressures (DL Cormarion Embry, DE Demarion Harris, DL Ja’Tavius Miller Jr, EDGE Antonio Simpson, and DE Ashton Walker) in 27-25 road win over Palm Beach Central
•Glades Central offensive line: 8 pancake blocks (OL’s Elijah Delia and Javarii Lucks with 3 pancakes each; OL’s Aiden Holloway and San’Torion Minus with 1 pancake each) in 38-14 home win over Seminole Ridge

•DB Ricky Gary Jr. (Pahokee): 1 interception in 27-25 road win over Palm Beach Central
•DB Willie Fitzgerald (Pahokee): 1 interception in 27-25 road win over Palm Beach Central
•DB Davontey Oliver (Somerset Academy Canyons): 5 tackles, 1 interception on defense; 42-yard kickoff return in 35-7 home loss to Melbourne Central Catholic
