ROYAL PALM BEACH – It took just a few plays for Tyree Pearson to make a lasting impact in Week 2.
The Royal Palm Beach senior running back, who transferred from Wellington this past offseason, posted the following statistics in his team’s 56-0 road win over John I. Leonard on Thursday, Aug. 28:
•3 carries
•141 rushing yards
•2 touchdowns
•47-yard rushing average
•Long run of 60 yards
This may go down as one of our area’s most significant eye-popping stat lines in at least recent memory. For that alone, Pearson (5-foot-11, 225 pounds) has been selected as our Muckstepper of Week 2.

“I’m him,” Pearson said recently in a Royal Palm Beach Football Instagram post. “I’m really dat.”
Royal Palm Beach head coach Sam Curry commented on Pearson’s awesome Week 2 performance against John I. Leonard.
“Honestly he only had carries, but he made all of them count,” Curry said. “He’s a strong bruising running back with surprising speed.”
In two games this season, Pearson has racked up the following statistics:
•9 carries
•202 yards
•3 touchdowns
•22.4 yards per carry
•101 yards per game
Pearson, a Belle Glade native, is a ESPN Top 63 selection from the Class of 2026. He possesses a nice mix of power, balance, and explosiveness, which lifts the entire team up in the process.
We look forward to Pearson having a great senior season with the Wildcats.
