Wallace (6-foot, 180 pounds) has no college scholarship offers at this time. But after his senior season ends tonight (Nov. 15) in the Sunshine State Athletic Association (SSAA) 2A title game against Rocky Bayou Christian, one can expect his recruiting stock to take off in some way.

For evidence of how well the Gators standout defensive player has performed this season, we can look to this past game against Canterbury in the SSAA 2A semifinal round on Friday, Nov. 7.

Watch for yourself some of what Wallace did to help his team earn a 33-19 home win and a title game berth.

Wallace tied his season and career high with 13 tackles against Canterbury.

Glades Day junior athlete and fellow captain Zeth Villarreal marveled at how much Wallace means to the program.

“I think he has been doing very good,” Villarreal said. “He had the most tackles last season and currently has the most tackles this season. He just knows how to read the other team’s offense, and when on the field he always communicates with all of us on defense. He’s just an overall playmaker.”

Glades Day junior running back and linebacker Ramsey “Rambo” Rimes share his thoughts about Wallace’s overall impact on the team.

“He’s a good player,” said Rimes, who is a team captain alongside Wallace and Rimes. “He’s been making most of our tackles this year.”

Wallace will make his attempt to cross the 100-tackle threshold in the 2A title game and end this game with a trophy and subsequent run. He and his team will be in action later this evening (6 p.m.) on the Muck.

Records now: Glades Day (4-8), Rocky Bayou Christian (5-5)
