WEST PALM BEACH – No time was wasted here.
Emmanuel Touissant was recently recruited by West Virginia State defensive coordinator, former Palm Beach County high school football head coach, and Muck native Rashad Jackson. His response to the care that he received as a recruit was a commitment to sign and then subsequently enroll with the HBCU and Division II program.
The Atlantic 2026 defensive back announced his commitment to the Yellow Jackets on Sunday afternoon (Jan. 11) through social media. He went on to sign with the Institute, W. Va.-based university on Monday night (Jan. 12).

Toussaint shared his reason for why he chose West Virginia State over Minot State, the other school he was considering.
“They’re very heavy on development.” the 6-foot, 185-pound defensive back said about West Virginia State. “They watch film a lot. I just feel like it was the best fit for me.”
Toussaint on Jackson:
“He’s really the reason why I signed here with West Virginia State,” Toussaint said of Jackson. “He showed me love. He was one of the first coaches to reach out to me in the offseason.”
The process actually started with Jackson reaching out to Atlantic head coach Jamelle Murray, who spoke up on behalf of Toussaint.
“I love what he does,” Toussaint said of Murray. “Great culture that he has at Atlantic. It will just keep going up from here.”
Toussaint finished his senior season at Atlantic with the following statistics in nine games played:
•40 total tackles
•3 tackles for loss
•3 interceptions
•2 pass breakups
“I showcased a lot on film and I really showed who I could be on the field,” Toussaint said.
Two special individuals have been the most influential to Manny’s development and recruiting process: his brother Nick Toussaint and his mother Mimi Touissant.
Manny started with Nick.
“My brother has been guiding me through football my whole life,” Manny said. “I really have been watching him and learning from him. He’s been telling me what steps to take and just guiding me through everything.”
Manny went on with his mother Mimi.
“She wants what’s best for me,” Manny said. “That’s just tough love right there. I love what she did for me.”
Manny recapped his high school football career, which has led him to the next level at West Virginia State.
“It was a rocky start,” Manny said. “It was because I was playing basketball and football. I was trying to figure out what I liked more. It turned out to be football. I got good at it, thanks to my trainers. They helped me. I just kept that dream alive.”
